Issue #2: The envelope to open before October 15

If you help a parent with Medicare, Open Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7. It's the one window each year to switch plans.

Before then, an envelope shows up called the Annual Notice of Change. Most people toss it. Don't. It's the plan telling you what's different next year, and plans change drug lists, doctor networks and costs every year, quietly.

Here's the 20-minute version:

  • Write down every medication she actually takes, including the over-the-counter stuff.

  • Write down every doctor she actually sees.

  • Check both lists against the notice.

  • If something she depends on got dropped or got expensive, mark October 15 on the calendar.

If your medication list lives in three places right now, the free Emergency Medical Info Sheet puts it on one page: Get the free Emergency Medical Info Sheet

And one thing coming soon: one-on-one help for families who want a second set of eyes on their actual situation. Email hello@sandwichgen.info if you want first word.
